Afvalzorg is currently developing several new large scale solar parks on its landfills in The Netherlands. Legislation and legal proceedings have been completed and SDE+ subsidy has been awarded to Afvalzorg for the construction of three more solar parks.
These solar parks will have a total capacity of 31.5 MW; more than 100,000 panels in total. The solar parks are expected to be built in 2021 and are subdivided into the following Dutch projects:
- Expansion of the solar park at Afvalzorg landfill Wieringermeer by 60,000 m2.
- A 100,000 m2 solar park at Afvalzorg landfill Braambergen in Almere.
- A 55,000 m2 solar park at our Afvalzorg location in Weert.
